The History Council of NSW‘s annual History Week 2016 – a celebration of community history – will be held from 3 to 11 September.
Now in its 19th year, History Week has become a significant event in the cultural calendar of New South Wales. This year’s theme, Neighbours, includes stories of individuals, families and communities living near one another and links between suburbs, regions and countries.

History Week Speaker Connect
The History Council of NSW is also offering member organisations in regional and suburban communities around the state the opportunity to receive speakers during History Week. This includes covering the speakers’ travel costs and providing event management and publicity support.
The History Council of NSW is seeking talented historians and postgraduate students to travel to community and local government organisations in regional and suburban New South Wales to deliver exciting and thought-provoking talks that illuminate the theme of Neighbours.
Applicants must be willing to travel to regional and rural areas. Applications close 31 May 2016.
